Les Yper Yper invited creative individuals from all over the world to submit original mail art work relevant to the conference theme “Against lethe”.
Social, economic, political, cultural, and environmental issues that affect us all demand a new way of thinking. However, while we look ahead, we should not forget the lessons of the past. What has been the role of visual language against forgetting and what may happen in the future?
Some of the internationally established artists and designers who responded to les yper yper’s call are: Simon Warren (UK), Winston Smith (USA), The Sticker Dude (USA), Allan Bealy (USA), Ben Hersch (USA), P22 Type Foundry (USA), Ryosuke Cohen (Japan), Tulio Restrepo (Colombia), Khalif Charif (Brazil) and Sutdio Atolòn de Mororoa (Uruguay). Also, the Greeks Georgia Kalafati (Sugahspank), James Inox, Marianna Ignataki, Barbara Panagiotidou, Kalos & Klio, Maria Xinopoulou, Nana Sachini and others.
On the occasion of the presentation in Amfilochia, in the framework of the local festival "Panakarnania", artists who participate in the exhibition give specially designed workshops on mail art for adults and children (Monday-Wednesday, 15-17 July 2013). Participation in the workshops is free of charge.
