The Margaris Foundation presents selected films from two established film festivals.
Based on its film selection and program, the Thessaloniki International Short Film Festival (http://www.tisff.eu) is included in the list of the top 45 short film festivals worldwide, and that of the top 28 European ones. TISFF’s programme includes cutting-edge works of cinematic art representing the new narrative and aesthetic trends in tomorrow's filmmaking, by award-winning directors from all over the world. TISFF also showcases “special” programs, such as tributes to directors or various countries.
Alberta Media Arts Alliance (http://amaas.ca) exists to promote, support, educate and advocate for Alberta media. Since 1998, AMAAS compiles and distributes Prairie Tales, an annual touring selection of short films and videos by Albertan artists, presented throughout the year across Alberta and beyond, around the world. This anthology showcases work by the shining lights of the Alberta media arts scene, using different genres, such as documentary, music videos, animation and fiction.
In addition to the screenings, the Foundation presents an exhibtion of two emerging artists, Maria Xinopoulou and Theodora Kaneli, graduates of Les Yper Yper’s art & design seminar cycle, under the direction of artist Rania Emmanouilidou.
